Ron's Trip to Japan 2003
In 2002, Ron got to go
to Japan on a business trip. While there he took some vacation time and toured.

Yokohama - The
tallest building is the Landmark Tower and has the Royal Park Hotel in the
upper stories. This is where Ron stayed on this trip.

Yokohama - The wonderful view from Ron's room at the
hotel. (53rd floor)

Yokohama - At the foot of the Landmark Tower is an
old dry dock that is the second oldest in Japan. It is now used for live music
and events.

Yokohama Harbor - The Nippon Maru was built in Kobe
in 1930. It was a training ship for the cadets of the Japanese merchant marine.
The ship became a museum in 1984.

Enoshima - Yes, someone knit real sweaters for the
fake birds.

Hase Village (Near Kamakura) - The 13th century
Diabutsu.

Mt. Hakone (Part of the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National
Park) - Steam vents.

Ashinoko Lake. As seen from a cable car descending
from the steam vents. (I stuck my camera out the window to get the picture.)

Toyko - One of the buildings in the Royal Palace in
Tokyo.

Toyko - Tokyo-Edo Museum. This strange, but
wonderful building is the museum for the city of Tokyo. Edo is historic name
for Tokyo.
